The 24 speed transmission for some reason got very hot this morning. The first thing I noticed was that I lost the odd gears, but I was still pulling the even gears well. I also had to keep the rpms above 1200 or it wouldn’t budge. I got out and went to look at the transmission sight glass on the rear of the transmission and it was so hot it was starting to melt. So that’s where you are now with the oil running out of the sight glass. Does anyone know why it got so hot? Where can you look for a transmission besides John Deere?
Clutch slippage builds up a lot of heat. It probably had a seized clutch and had an opposite one moving the tractor.
